He holds an Associate Professor position the Faculty of Education in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona UAB (Spain), after holding a tenure-track position (2015-20) and completing the transition from secondary school (1995-2014) into tertiary education. In 2013 he was granted with a sought-after post-doc position (2014-16 Exeter U., AGAUR/Marie Curie Actions) and in the period 2010-22 he has published more than 65 academic and professional outcomes: pedagogic material, reviews, and peer-reviewed books, chapters, and papers (some of the latter in top journals: Research Papers in Education, International Journal of Educational Research, Language and Linguistics Compass, L1-Studies on Language and Literature, RILCE; and relevant publisher houses Graó, Octaedro, Peter Lang, L’Harmattan). He has been an invited key-note speaker in Argentina, Poland, and the UK, and an invited master’s degree teacher in the Universidad de Jaén (Spain). He is currently PI of a research project granted by the Spanish Government (“Development of Written Competence and Critical Reasoning in Teacher Degrees”, 2021-2024) involving 5 universities in Spain. He has presented research papers in international conferences (EARLI, ARLE, ALA, ECER, SEDLL, etc.) as well as papers on teacher education (FECIA), some of which published as pedagogic material (e.g., by the Spanish Government www.leer.es 2011). He has supervised 1 PhD thesis (dissertation: 2017), He is currently supervising 3 PhD candidates, he has taken part in PhD dissertation juries, and has reviewed for top journals. He currently holds two 6-year research premium awarded by the National Research Agency in Spain.
